Angels Way, a fund managed by OW Ventures, announced a new investment in four Portuguese startups: Lampsy, Intuitivo, Smashpro, and UpSpeech. This investment brings the total number of supported startups to 15 and the amount already allocated by the collective to 750 thousand euros.
The fund is made up of a community of 436 small investors, known as angel investors, and is dedicated to investing in early-stage startups, with a maximum ticket of 50 thousand euros per startup. The goal is to invest one million euros in 20 Portuguese startups with technological impact, currently at 75% of that target.
The startups already invested in by Angels Way are valued at 79.5 million euros, according to information released in a statement. Luís Filipe Gutman, managing partner at OW Ventures, stated that the investment thesis is not limited to a specific sector, seeking patterns of excellence that cross industries, with these four new startups being examples of solid product, execution, and ambition for international scale.
Tocha, executive partner at Olisipo Way, highlighted that in a year and a half they demonstrated it is possible to structure a regulated fund with nearly half a thousand investors actively participating throughout the entire investment cycle, arguing that early-stage investment can be fairer and more stimulating.
