After a year and a half of searches, the Salta Police confirmed that the remains found in February in the El Encón Grande area, in northwestern Argentina, belong to María Angélica Romero, a 64-year-old retired teacher who had been missing since March 12, 2025. The identification was made through DNA tests conducted by the Missing Persons Division of the provincial police.
