One year after the Glória Elevator derailment, which caused the death of 16 people, the determination of the causes of the tragedy is still not concluded. The authorities have not yet presented a final report on what caused the accident.

Meanwhile, compensation to the victims and their families remains to be settled. Many families continue to wait for answers and a resolution for their losses.

Carris, the company responsible for the elevator, is preparing the construction of a new elevator, which will be more modern and safe. The new equipment should replace what was destroyed in the tragedy.

The Glória Elevator was a widely used means of transport in Lisbon, connecting the downtown area of the city to the high district. The tragedy happened exactly one year ago, but the affected families continue without definitive answers about what went wrong.
