The European Commission approved a Portuguese state aid scheme worth 30 million euros to support companies in the agricultural, fisheries and aquaculture sectors. This support is intended for companies that were affected by the increase in fuel and fertilizer costs.
The program will be available until December 31, 2026, allowing beneficiaries to have almost two years to access the available funding.
The aid will be granted through direct grants, offering a direct mechanism of financial support to companies in the covered sectors. This scheme comes as a response to the economic difficulties faced by agricultural producers, fishermen and aquaculture operators due to the rise in the prices of production factors.
