The Committee on Constitution and Justice (CCJ) of the Senate approved this Wednesday the Proposed Constitutional Amendment (PEC) that provides for the end of the 6x1 work schedule. The approved text is the same one that passed through the Chamber of Deputies and establishes five days of work per week with two days off.
After analysis in the CCJ, the proposal needs to be approved in the Senate Plenary in two rounds, with at least 49 favorable votes to be promulgated. The senators rejected a suggestion for change presented during the session in order not to harm the approval schedule planned by the government.
In the same session this Wednesday, the committee approved a suggestion for the PEC to have a special voting schedule in the plenary. The decision on when the matter will be on the agenda is up to the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre.
The federal government wants the proposal to be voted on this week, however the analysis may be postponed until after the legislative recess, depending on Alcolumbre's decision.
