The North American markets closed the session in positive territory, posting gains after a period of recent declines.

Investors took advantage of the lower prices to buy stocks on discount, which boosted the recovery of the stock market indexes.

Action camera company GoPro was one of the big winners of the day, with an exceptionally high gain of 37%.

This was the second consecutive session of gains for GoPro, which has been recovering from previous lows.
