The new Beja Jardim retail park was inaugurated on Thursday, the 3rd, at 9:00 AM, at the exit from the city of Beja to Serpa. The project is promoted by the Névoa Group and has the concept "Your new retail in the heart of Alentejo".

Beja Jardim brings together a diverse set of stores, including Normal, Opticenter, Vilanova, Seaside, Action, Rádio Popular, Pluricosmética and Mercadona, which also opened its doors on this same date.

In a statement, the Névoa Group explained that the project reflects its commitment to developing spaces capable of generating value for the territories where they are located, contributing to the economic and social dynamization of the region and to creating new proximity dynamics between commercial activity and local communities.

The director-general of the Névoa Group, Luís Sousa Ribeiro, quoted in the statement, said that Beja Jardim represents another step in the group's investment and growth strategy and that the strong adhesion demonstrated since opening confirms the relevance of this investment. The group's ambition is to continue contributing to the development of the communities where it operates.

The future cannot be built without the young

Portugal faces a labor contradiction where companies complain about a lack of workers while youth unemployment remains at 18.4% for the 16 to 24 age group, far above the national average of 5.6%. The article argues that young people are essential for the renewal of organizations and intergenerational knowledge transmission, but warns that attracting them is not enough — they need fair salaries, career progression prospects, and stability. With Eurostat projections indicating a 21% reduction in the working-age population by 2050, the country cannot afford to waste talent. The training of young people is presented as an investment, not a cost, with greater collaboration needed between professional associations, companies, and educational institutions to inform students about existing opportunities and retain the professionals Portugal needs.
