The Chega leader, André Ventura, announced the submission of a motion of censure to the Government during a press conference at the party's headquarters in Lisbon. The motion arises motivated by suspicions surrounding the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves. Ventura was accompanied by MPs Cristina Rodrigues, Pedro Frazão and Nuno Gabriel.
Ventura stated that the country has reached a situation of "absolute unsustainability" regarding the integrity of public powers and the ethical standard required of democratic institutions. The far-right party thus justifies the presentation of the motion against the executive.
