The President of the United States, Donald Trump, suggested in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the Strait of Hormuz should be renamed as "Trump Strait." The proposal came at a time when Trump claimed that the situation in the region would be "under control."

In the post, Trump questioned whether it would be appropriate to proceed with the name change, writing: "Now that we have the situation under control, should we rename the Strait of Hormuz as 'Trump Strait'?"

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital strategic passage for world oil transportation, located between Iran and the United Arab Emirates. The region has been the scene of significant geopolitical tensions.

The suggestion was made through the ex-President's social media platform, Truth Social, where Trump frequently communicates his political positions and proposals.
