Thousands of people gathered on Wednesday afternoon in Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona, coinciding with Ceuta Day. The mobilization had as its initial objective to convey a message of solidarity with the population of Ceuta. However, the event took place in a climate of strong tension due to the coincidence of two rallies of an opposite nature.
On one side of the square, separated by a strong police cordon, was the demonstration called by the PP and Vox, which was also joined by far-right groups and neo-Nazis, such as Núcleo Nacional. On the other side, anti-racist entities gathered by Unitat contra el Feixisme i el Racisme met.
