From October 10 to November 1, Teatro Riachuelo Rio hosts "PIAF – I Do Not Regret", a major production starring Laila Garin that revisits the life and work of Édith Piaf, considered among the greatest voices of the 20th century. With text by Newton Moreno and Alessandro Toller and direction by Sergio Módena, the show, never before staged, traverses the achievements, losses, and new beginnings of the artist to the sound of hits like "La Vie en Rose".
Born in Paris in 1915, Édith Piaf endured a childhood marked by poverty before making her way among the great names of French music. Discovered by Louis Leplée while singing in the streets of Pigalle in 1935, she reached the stages of the Le Gerny's cabaret and received the nickname "La Môme Piaf," the "little sparrow." Her intense voice, dramatic interpretation, and repertoire deeply tied to her own experiences projected her name beyond France.
