After more than a decade of discussions, the EU reached a historic agreement to eliminate controversial rules in air passenger transport

After more than a decade of discussions, the European Union reached a historic agreement to eliminate controversial rules in air passenger transport. This change represents an important milestone in European legislation regarding consumer rights in the aviation sector.

Passengers will now be able to carry, at no additional cost, a small backpack or hand luggage in the aircraft cabin. This measure had been long awaited by travelers, who frequently faced high fees to bring these basic items with them.

Airlines now have a one-year deadline to prepare and adapt their systems to this new reality. During this transition period, companies will need to adjust their pricing and operational policies.

The agreement significantly strengthens air passenger rights in Europe, establishing clearer and more favorable rules for consumers who travel by plane.
