The Portuguese Government intends to advance with a special public investment plan in the municipality of Sines. The information was transmitted by the Minister of Economy during a ceremony dedicated to the topic.
The president of the Municipality of Sines, Álvaro Beijinha, expressed concerns during the ceremony. Beijinha warned about the pressure that planned private investments are exerting on housing and public services in the region.
The estimated private investments exceed 20 billion euros. This value represents a significant volume of private capital that may put pressure on local infrastructure.
The special public investment plan comes as a response to the needs identified by local authorities. The objective will be to balance the growth driven by the private sector with the capacity of public services and the housing market in Sines.
