The comedy "Minha melhor amiga," starring Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, premieres this Thursday (3) in 1531 movie theaters in 436 cities across Brazil. This number represents the largest release in the history of national audiovisual, surpassing the previous record of "Minha mãe é uma peça 3," a comedy with Paulo Gustavo that had been released in 1456 theaters in 327 Brazilian cities.
The film is directed by Susana Garcia and is based on the real experiences of Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli on trips with their teenage daughters, Julia and Clara. The daughters' names were used to name the protagonists of the story.
In the plot, best friends Julia (played by Mônica Martelli) and Clara (played by Ingrid Guimarães) face a difficult phase in their mid-50s. Filming was done in Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, and Seville.
