Authorities in Nepal and China raised the death toll to 1,225 one week after the floods that devastated the region. The natural disaster continues to reveal its devastating impact on the two neighboring countries.
Emergency teams managed to save 11,993 people in the northern and central zones of Nepal, the Himalayan country most affected by the tragedy. These rescue operations remain ongoing to find survivors.
More than 21,000 personnel have been mobilized to participate in relief and rescue operations. Authorities continue to work to reach the most isolated areas and provide humanitarian assistance to the victims.
