The Public Prosecutor's Office expects the investigation into the derailment of the Glória elevator, in Lisbon, to be concluded in 2027. The report states that the investigation is still awaiting the completion of technical tests scheduled for November.
The investigative work should coincide with the preparation of the final report by GPIAAF, the Bureau for the Prevention and Investigation of Accidents with Aircraft and Railway Accidents, the entity responsible for determining the causes of the accident.
The Glória elevator is one of Lisbon's historic lifts, connecting the city centre to the upper town, and the incident caused injuries to several people. The authorities are conducting a thorough technical analysis to determine the causes of the derailment.
