Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) interdicted a batch of mineral water after detecting coliforms in the product. The measure prohibits the sale of the item while it remains in effect.
The product was manufactured by the company GEPF Agro Indústria Ltda., which is responsible for the batch affected by the interdict. The presence of coliforms indicates bacterial contamination, which prompted the regulatory action.
With the interdict, the batch of mineral water is barred from being sold throughout the national territory. The measure aims to protect consumer health in light of the possible contamination identified in the analyses.
