German authorities identified two suspects with Russian passports for the hybrid attack in early August against Leipzig airport, which involved an explosive-laden drone. One of them is a Russian with a Latvian passport and the other is a Belarusian citizen.
The investigation was conducted jointly by the daily Süddeutsche Zeitung and the regional channels NDR and WDR, which revealed the identity of the suspects.
The target of the attack was a Ukrainian Antonov aircraft used for transporting military material. The authorities are convinced they have identified the two people as responsible for the attempted attack.
