Douglas Ruas, candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro for the PL party, signed this Wednesday a Commitment Letter presented by the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel) in the state. The document brings together eight fronts considered strategic for the food service sector, including deregulation, reduction of the tax burden, access to credit, public safety, combating cargo theft, professional qualification, and strengthening tourism and gastronomy.

During the meeting, Ruas stated that he intends to increase enforcement against utility companies providing electricity, gas, water, and sewage services. The candidate said that companies will have to strictly comply with contracts signed with the state.

Ruas declared that he will be very strict regarding utility companies and considered it unacceptable that job creation and income generation and the economic activity of the state of Rio de Janeiro be harmed by the poor service provided by these companies. According to him, utility companies will have to comply with the contracts they signed.
