The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, defended this Wednesday (2) an investigation against Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court, and the breaking of all secrecy in the Dark Horse case. The statement was made when commenting on new developments in the Master case and the suspicion of the minister's involvement in negotiations with former banker Daniel Vorcaro.
Regarding a possible resignation of Moraes, Tarcísio stated that this is a "matter of personal conscience," but defended that the Court is under suspicion and that trust in institutions must be recovered through transparency, investigation, and accountability.
The governor emphasized that no one is above the law, including Supreme Court ministers. "There is no authority that is above the law. The President of the Republic is not above the law, no Supreme Court minister is above the law, no senator is above the law, no governor is above the law. The law is for everyone," he declared.
The statement comes at a time when some senators are mobilizing to investigate the accusations against the minister, in a scenario of growing tension between the branches of government.
