The president of the Madrid City Council, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, responded to the clash between the PP of Madrid and the Spanish Government, after the gathering called for this afternoon in front of the City Hall in support of Ceuta. Almeida did not back down and reinforced his discourse against the central executive once again.
The mayor published a message on the social network X where he wrote: "Madrid will not stay silent. At 8:00 PM, at Cibeles", making an appeal to Madrilenians to participate in the gathering scheduled for eight in the evening.
The conflict arose after a confrontation between the PP of Madrid and the Government regarding this demonstration in support of Ceuta, a Spanish city in North Africa. Almeida maintained the high tone and showed no intentions of lowering the political tension.
