Scientists have issued a warning that international climate targets have failed and that the situation may deteriorate even further in the future. Global warming is progressing at an accelerated pace and the commitments made by various countries have not been sufficient to halt the advance of climate change.
According to the warning, global temperature will rise worldwide above the value considered safe, exceeding the limit of one and a half degrees set as a target in the Paris Climate Agreement.
The Climate Agreement was signed in 2015 in the French capital by 195 countries, which committed to adopting measures to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial temperatures. However, scientists point out that these targets have not been met and that the world continues on a trajectory of accelerated warming.
