The real estate consortium gained 870 thousand participants in one year and took second position in the consortium system, behind only light vehicles. Until July of last year, this position belonged to motorcycles. The change was recorded in the most recent survey by ABAC, the Brazilian Association of Consortium Administrators.
The jump in the real estate segment helps explain why the consortium system reached the highest number of participants in its history. Of every three new participants between July 2025 and July of the following year, almost two entered real estate groups. No other segment contributed as much to the system's advancement.
The consortium works differently from traditional financing. Participants contribute monthly to a common fund and receive credit when they are selected by raffle or bid. That way, those who join the consortium do not receive the property immediately.
The real estate letter is not limited to buying a finished house. According to the contract, the funds can be used to acquire land, build, renovate, or pay off financing of the same category.
