The candidate for President from the Novo party, Romeu Zema, minimized the results of the new Quaest poll, which shows his stagnation at 1% of voting intentions. On the morning the survey was released, Zema reacted to the numbers with optimism and highlighted the advance of Augusto Cury, another right-wing candidate who reached 10% of voting intentions, isolating himself in third place.
In the poll, Lula and Bolsonaro appear ahead, and in the second-round scenario the two present a technical tie. Cury consolidated himself as the third force, overtaking Zema, who remains stagnant at the same 1% as previous surveys.
Zema recalled that, in 2018, when he ran for governor of Minas Gerais, he appeared behind the opponents until the last week before the vote and still got elected. According to him, an election works like a menu that the voter opens only at the time of deciding, and for that reason he says he is confident in his campaign.
The candidate also commented that he does not regret having missed a debate organized by Banpará bank, reaffirming his independent posture even in the face of criticism.
