Wero arrives in Luxembourg

SAPO Notícias2 September 2026 at 15:21

The Wero digital payments solution has arrived in Luxembourg, marking its entry into the fourth European market. EPI (European Payments Initiative) has completed the transition from the Payconiq system to Wero in this country.

The expansion was carried out through five Luxembourg banks, which began offering the Wero platform to their clients. This change represents another step in EPI's strategy to establish a unified European payment system.

Wero, developed as a European alternative to international payment systems, has been gradually expanding across the continent's markets. The transition from Payconiq to Wero in Luxembourg is part of this broader expansion plan.
