The criminal investigation into the Elevador da Glória accident, in Lisbon, should only be concluded next year. The technical expertise on the equipment, which connects Baixa to Bairro Alto, has not yet been completed and its conclusion is expected only for November.
After the completion of the expertise, the Public Prosecutor's Office will still need to analyze the results obtained and proceed with determining any criminal responsibilities arising from the incident.
The Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Lisbon estimated that the final ruling on the inquiry should not be known before the end of March next year.
