Jean-Paul Rappeneau, the French director best known for helming "Cyrano de Bergerac," the film adaptation that became a classic of French cinema, has died.
The director left a short but highly successful body of work, both commercially and critically. His filmography is marked by the presence of some of the biggest stars of French cinema.
In 2018, Rappeneau gave an interview to the newspaper PÚBLICO, in which he said: "I don't know how it's possible not to love actors," revealing his closeness to and admiration for the work of performers.
