Eight people were indicted by the Cyber Crimes Unit of the Specialized Group for Combating Organized Crime (CyberGaeco) of the Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro for involvement in a money laundering scheme from the illegal numbers game through online sports betting companies, known as bets. The investigations indicate that the defendants illegally disguised and concealed at least R$ 5.2 million.
Among those indicted are Vinicius Pereira Drumond, son of gambler Luizinho Drumond, killed in 2020, as well as Flavio da Silva Santos, Alexandre Vinicius da Costa Guedes, Jorge Roberto de Oliveira Figueiredo, João Eric Lourenço da Silva, Ana Paula Batista Vitorino, João Victor de Araujo Souza and Lucas Pastore Laporte de Souza.
