Nokia returns to the STOXX 50 and Volkswagen leaves the stock index

The Euro STOXX 50, the stock index that brings together the 50 largest listed European companies, will undergo changes in its composition. The telecommunications infrastructure company Nokia enters the index, after being excluded a year ago. The energy counterpart Engie also joins the index from now on.

The companies leaving the Euro STOXX 50 are the automobile manufacturer Volkswagen and the software creator Wolters Kluwer. These changes were disclosed by the Reuters news agency.

The STOXX 600, an index that aggregates the 600 largest European companies by market capitalization, is also facing changes. The National Bank of Greece and Alpha Bank are joining this index, while the retailer JD Sports Fashion, the Thule Group and the airport operator Fraport AG are leaving the index.

All these changes take effect on September 21.
