The Quaest poll released on Wednesday (2) by the newspaper O Globo shows that President Lula (PT), candidate for reelection, and Senator Bolsonaro (PL) are in a technical tie in the second round of the 2026 presidential elections, with 42% and 41% of voting intentions respectively. The difference between the candidates decreased from three percentage points in the previous survey to just one point now.
The survey also confirmed the growth of writer Augusto Cury (Avante), who appears with 10% of voting intentions in the first round and consolidates his third place in the presidential race. In second-round scenarios against Cury, Lula would win with 40% against 34%.
In the other second-round scenarios tested, Lula would defeat Mission's candidate, Renan Santos, by 43% to 36%. Against Ronaldo Caiado (PSD), the PT candidate's victory would be by 42% to 37%, while Romeu Zema (Novo) would lose with 33% against 44% of the current president.
