The MANTA festival returns to the Vila Flor Gardens in Guimarães with an edition that brings together artists from four countries and three continents. This year's programming is based on the idea that art and music have the ability to create bridges between cultures and bring communities together, regardless of the artists' language or origin.
On Friday, October 11, Mar Pujol, one of the emerging voices of Catalan music who presents tracks from her new album scheduled for October release, takes the stage, along with Leo Middea, a Brazilian singer and songwriter who brings his latest work, Notícias de Puglia, the seventh album of his career. The evening ends with a DJ set by Corleone Jr., curated by Oub'lá.
On Saturday, October 12, the festival welcomes Bongeziwe Mabandla, considered one of the most striking voices of contemporary African music who presents the album Ndingubani, and Milhanas, one of the most relevant performers of new Portuguese music. The closing is handled by Not Fritzen, also in DJ set format, curated by Oub'lá, extending the festive atmosphere until 02:00.
In addition to the concerts, MANTA reserves Saturday for activities aimed at children and families, including the workshop "Assim Juntos Dá Menos Trabalho" and the musical show "Até Cantar Dá Trabalho," both conceived by Catarina Moura and Luís Pedro Madeira. Entry to the festival is free, with the workshop requiring prior online registration and the children's show requiring ticket collection at the Vila Flor Palace.
