Iran's Internal Security Chief Promises 'New Strategy' in War Against the US After Exchange of Attacks

oglobo2 September 2026 at 14:30

The head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, stated on Wednesday that the theocratic regime is preparing a new strategy in the war against the US, which will encompass military actions and diplomatic and economic disputes. The statement comes after new attacks exchanged between the countries, including an American bombing that left four dead during a wedding in the city of Kuhestak, which Tehran called a "war crime." Tensions also remain high in the Strait of Hormuz, where hostile actions have been recorded again.

The president of Iran, for his part, proposed immediate reciprocity if the US returns to the nuclear agreement, while seeking support from China and Russia to strengthen his position in negotiations. Rezaei warned that American attempts will not manage to pull the US out of what he called the "hellhole" they built for themselves.
