Bride gets married with water at waist level inside flooded church and images impress

A bride in a white dress crossed a church with flood water at waist level so as not to postpone the wedding in the Philippines. Leian Lieza Galang and Gilbert Chico decided to keep the ceremony even with the temple partially submerged after weeks of heavy rains. The images of the moment show the bride advancing through the brown water, white flower bouquet in her hands, while family members and few guests faced the same conditions to attend the union.

The wedding took place at St. John the Baptist Church in Hagonoy on Tuesday (1st). Inside the temple, the pews remained empty, but some had been decorated with plastic flowers. The attempt to preserve traditional elements of the celebration contrasted with the scenario caused by the flood.
