Polish winger Jakub Kaminski, signed by Benfica for 17 million euros, finds himself at a clear disadvantage in Marco Silva's tactical options. The 24-year-old player started pre-season as a starter and played minutes against St. Gallen, but his performance failed to impress the Portuguese coach, who ended up relegating him to the substitutes' bench.
The meteoric rise of young Gianluca Prestianni definitively pushed the former Colonia player out of the initial options in the attack of the Glorioso. This change in the coach's priorities left Kaminski in an increasingly peripheral position in the starting eleven.
In the recent matches against Aarhus and Estoril, Kaminski did not even leave the substitutes' bench. In total, the Polish international has only accumulated 163 minutes this season, which represents a usage far below what was expected for a 17 million euro investment.
