Brazilians' interest in traveling within the country reached its highest level in four years, according to the State of Search Brasil survey, conducted by Opinion Box in partnership with Hedgehog Digital and released by Panrotas. The domestic travel interest index reached 42% in 2025, the highest level since the beginning of the series in 2022.
The growth curve shows consistent recovery over the years. The index started at 37% in 2022, dropped to 34% in 2023, rose to 38% in 2024, and reached 42% in 2025, representing the largest year-over-year advance in the entire period assessed.
The way Brazilians search for travel follows this growth trend. According to Opinion Box, the search for travel increasingly occurs through mobile phones, which brings the decision closer to the moment the interest arises and makes it easier to compare destinations within the country itself.
The interest translates into significant revenue for the sector. According to the Braztoa Yearbook 2026, domestic travel moved R$ 18.66 billion and accounted for 77.9% of all tour operators' revenue in 2025.
