Medway, a railway company, sent a letter to Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) warning about the problems it faces. The company's president warned that they are facing a reduction in activity of around 13%. This reduction is directly related to the limitations of the existing railway infrastructure. As a result of this situation, Medway's costs increased by 27%. The company thus seeks to alert the competent authorities to the negative impact that restrictions on the railway network have had on its operations and the viability of its activities.
