An invasive algae is spreading along the coast of Sines, representing a threat to the marine biodiversity of the region. Researcher Joaquim Parrinha explained that this species arrived on the Portuguese coast from the Mediterranean. The algae initially established itself in the Algarve and subsequently advanced northward, now reaching the Sines area. This phenomenon concerns authorities and researchers due to the negative impact it may have on local marine ecosystems.
