The bishop of Funchal, D. Nuno Brás, is the guest speaker at a conference that takes place within the Feast of Our Lady of Health in Sacavém. The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd, at 9:00 PM, in the Community Hall of the Social Center of Sacavém.

The conference will take place under the motto "Peace be with You", included in the Pastoral Visit 2026. The prelate of the Diocese of Funchal will address central questions of Christian life, mission, and the experience of community faith in today's world.

The celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Health constitute one of the most striking moments of popular religiosity of that locality, annually gathering hundreds of faithful in the liturgical and cultural aspects.

CECHAP classifies archaeological find in a quarry in Vila Viçosa as "unique at national and Iberian Peninsula scale"

A technical meeting held in Vila Viçosa marked the resumption of the process to classify and preserve unique Roman archaeological remains at national and Iberian Peninsula scale, found inside a marble quarry. The meeting, promoted by the CECHAP Study Centre, brought together various entities, including the CCDR Alentejo, the DGEG, archaeologists from the University of Évora and the Municipal Council. The objective is to find a solution that reconciles the preservation of archaeological heritage with the continuity of the quarry's industrial activity, possibly later integrating the Marble Route for tourism valorization purposes.
