ASAE, IVDP and CVRVV met in Porto to prepare the inspection of the 2026 vindima, agreeing on strengthened coordination among the three entities responsible for the control and certification of wines from the Douro, Porto and Vinhos Verdes regions.
One of the main concerns in the Demarcated Region of Douro is monitoring the circulation of grapes from their origin to processing facilities, ensuring that movements are recorded and that production destined for wines with Denomination of Origin complies with established rules.
The coordination between entities aims to prevent situations that could compromise the authenticity and origin of products, through information sharing and the carrying out of coordinated control actions during the vindima period. The teams will work with common procedures and communication channels to reinforce on-the-ground monitoring.
The operation is particularly important at a time when thousands of producers in the Douro are preparing for the grape harvest destined for the production of Douro and Porto wines, sectors with significant weight in the economy and identity of the region.
