The Loja do Cidadão in Alijó will begin offering services from the Tax and Customs Authority from September 7, adding this to the services already provided by Social Security and the Citizen Space. The facility is located in the town centre and brings together different Public Administration services in a single space, allowing citizens to handle various matters without having to travel to other municipalities.
Through the Citizen Space, managed by the Municipality, it is possible to access services from various public entities, including Citizen Card renewal, address change, Digital Mobile Key management, driving licence renewal, and criminal record certificate requests.
The Loja do Cidadão resulted from an investment of approximately 1.4 million euros, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, which also allowed for the requalification of a building located in the centre of Alijó. The integration of services from the Institute of Registries and Notaries, initially considered, did not proceed due to a decision by that entity, but with the addition of the Tax Authority, the space now brings together three public services, strengthening local access for the municipality's population.
