Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the Master case at the Supreme Federal Court (STF), admitted that he met with banker Daniel Vorcaro once, in March 2025. In a note, the minister's office stated that the meeting dealt with an action that "discussed court-ordered debt credits of interest to the bank, but which was, on the exact date of the meeting, with a request for view by another minister."
The meeting occurred before Mendonça became rapporteur of the Master case at the Court, which happened in February 2026. "Minister André Mendonça clarifies that he received businessman Daniel Vorcaro once, in March 2025, at the initiative of the businessman himself, and that he limited himself to listening to him," the office wrote.
In the same month, Mendonça also met with the businessman's lawyer and maintains, in the office records, the written memorials received on the occasion of the meeting. The ICL Notícias portal revealed that lawyer Ciro Rocha Soares, close to Vorcaro, was the one who mediated the contact between the banker and the minister.
