ZERO defends "rejection" of Gavião mine, in Aljustrel

The ZERO environmental association defended the rejection of the Gavião Mine project, in Aljustrel, considering that the Aljustrel mine concessionaire ignores the existence of a railway line in the region. The environmentalists point out that the project foresees the export of ore without any local transformation strategy, which they describe as a "mining colony" exploitation model. ZERO argues that the non-use of the available railway infrastructure represents a serious flaw in the project's design. This position arises in the context of an environmental assessment or licensing process for the mining project.
