The new Eastern Bypass of Évora, integrated into the IP2, was inaugurated this Thursday, September 3, at a ceremony promoted by Infraestruturas de Portugal. The infrastructure opened to traffic on Wednesday, September 2, and the formal inauguration ceremony took place the following day, at 09:15, on the IP2.
The ceremony was presided over by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Hugo Espírito Santo, and included representatives from Infraestruturas de Portugal, the Municipality of Évora, and the Government.
The project creates a road alternative on the eastern side of the city of Évora, changing traffic conditions on the main axis that establishes the connection between Évora and the south of Alentejo. This is one of the main new road infrastructure projects in the city, corresponding to the Eastern Bypass of Évora on the IP2.
