The Senate Committee on Constitution, Justice and Citizenship (CCJ) meets on Wednesday to vote on the report for the Proposed Constitutional Amendment that proposes ending the 6x1 work schedule. The rapporteur of the proposal, Senator Omar Aziz, will maintain the text approved by the Chamber of Deputies to avoid delays in the process. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., and the PEC is the first item on the committee's agenda.
Opposition parties threaten to use procedural maneuvers to obstruct the vote on the proposal in committee. Nevertheless, the government leader in the Senate, Teresa Leitão, stated there are enough votes to approve the PEC in the CCJ and that government leaders are working on negotiations with the Senate President, Davi Alcolumbre, to establish a special fast-track procedure and take the proposal to the floor shortly after approval in committee.
