The National Education Federation (FNE) is calling on the Government to make "concrete" decisions to solve the problems affecting schools in Portugal. The organization believes the main challenges in the education sector have been recognized for years, but political will to solve them continues to be lacking.
FNE warned of three main problems: the lack of teachers in schools, the excessive bureaucracy affecting daily operations and the loss of attractiveness of the teaching profession, which hinders the hiring and retention of teachers.
