The Government admits that the implementation of the Volta System in Portugal has faced problems since it came into operation. The system, which works as a deposit and refund mechanism, has presented flaws that have been identified by the authorities.
The Minister of Environment, Maria da Graça Carvalho, acknowledges the difficulties and guarantees that the identified situations are being analyzed. The government official also assures that some of these situations have already been resolved.
The Executive revealed that it intends to make changes to the system to correct the detected problems. The changes aim to improve the operation of the deposit and refund mechanism for Portuguese consumers.
