Brussels approved a 30 million euro support package aimed at Portugal, covering the agricultural, fisheries and aquaculture sectors. This measure aims to partially compensate for the significant increase in production costs that these activities have faced.
The support is intended for Portuguese companies in these three sectors, allowing them to cope with rising market prices. This is one of the support measures that have been adopted by the European Union to mitigate the impact of increased operating costs on primary sectors.
In particular, expenses related to fuels and fertilizers will be covered, two of the main cost factors that have been pressuring Portuguese farmers and fishermen. These supports come in a context of growing pressure on production costs throughout the European Union.
