At least 531 people were displaced following a new rebel attack in Mozambique. The displaced persons come from the district of Balama, which was targeted by an offensive by unidentified armed groups.
Among the displaced are 178 women and 204 children. These two population groups represent 38% of the total population affected by the attack.
Mozambican authorities have not yet formally identified those responsible for the attack, which caused the mass flight of civilians from their homes to safer areas.
