A 33-year-old man was arrested by the Public Security Police in Porto on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone from a 68-year-old woman. The suspect was intercepted by police shortly after committing the crime.
The arrest took place while the pickpocket was still fleeing, and he was caught while still in possession of the stolen device. The victim's mobile phone ended up ringing in the suspect's pocket, which made it easier for the authorities to identify him.
The man was brought before the competent authorities for the appropriate legal proceedings. This type of pickpocketing crime is common in urban areas with a high concentration of people.
