The PSPV accuses Pérez Llorca of "losing the summer" while problems accumulate in classrooms

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General2 September 2026 at 12:34

The Education spokesperson for PSPV-PSOE in the Corts Valencianes, José Luis Lorenz, accused the president of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, of "losing the summer." According to the socialist, the leader failed to use the vacation months to resolve pending problems in schools. José Luis Lorenz considered that the situation demonstrates a lack of preparation and management on the part of the regional executive.

The accusation comes at a time when teachers return to classrooms with various conflicts from the previous school year still unresolved. The socialist pointed out that many of these problems marked the end of the past academic year and should have been addressed during the vacation period. The criticism focuses on the lack of preventive measures and dialogue with teachers during the summer months.

PSPV-PSOE thus demands greater attention from the regional government to the problems in the education sector. The socialists consider that the accumulation of pending issues harms both teachers and students, and that Pérez Llorca's executive failed by not prioritizing education during the period when they would have had the most time to plan solutions.
